There are many historical places to explore in Delhi. It throws a light on the ancient period which the present generation would definitely find it worth knowing. There are many monuments in Delhi that serves as tourist spots. Khas Mahal is one such monument which attracts a lot of crowd. It is said to have served as the private residence of the Mughals. It is structured inside the Red Fort which is a fort.
It is located in Chandni Chowk. The Khas Mahal is divided into three parts - the Chamber of Telling Beads, the sleeping chamber and the wardrobe. The ceiling is gilded partially. One can see floral decorations everywhere inside the Mahal. White marble is used to decorate the entire interiors. One can also see the Mughal art which is very different from the contemporary art. One can see the Octagonal Tower towards the east of the Khas Mahal.
The Jharokha Darshan was a ceremony wherein the emperor would address his subjects every morning to discuss the important matters. The Khas Mahal is open to public on all the days of the week. It is open from 9.00 am to 6.00pm. The entry is absolutely free and photography is allowed. One can get to capture most of the images that has significant relevance to the Mughal history. It is an apt place for history buff and those individuals’ who loves wandering and exploring. Yellow Line is the nearest metro station.
